Australia: Qantas/Emirates partnership already alive

In light of last week’s decision by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to officially green-light the Qantas/Emirates alliance, the two airlines have already opened up bookings on their joint network. According to reports, however, they have not yet begun to coordinate prices. Flyers can now book flights on either airline for trips after March 31, after final ACCC authorization. Also according to the agreement, frequent-flyer points can be accumulated through Emirates flights promoted by Qantas, and Emirates can now book flights to Australia.
