U.K./U.S.: UBS may earn $1B fine for LIBOR scandal, says source

A source familiar with the ongoing investigation into the global LIBOR scandal has said that UBS AG may be fined up to $1 billion by antitrust authorities in the U.S. and U.K. The fine would be more than double what was issued to Barclays Plc for the same case. The source said the fine could be announced next week, and more sources said that the fines are not finalized. UBS is Switzerland’s biggest bank.
