Zimbabwe: Tri-nation peer review of antitrust policy yields positive results

Zimbabwe’s Competition and Tariff Commission has been praised by Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Mike Bimha. Bimha made the statements in favor of the nation’s antitrust authority during opening remarks at a stakeholders’ seminar, planned to reveal the findings of the Voluntary Peer review of Competition Law and Policy. The peer review, which included Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Zambia, was organized by UNCTAD. Bimha said the nation’s Competition and Tariff Commission has helped to curb cartel activity in the nation, and the government will implement the findings and suggestions put forth by the peer review.
