Canada: Competition Bureau said RBS made ‘false’ statements regarding investigation

Canada’s Competition Bureau has accused the Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC of making “false” statements regarding RBS’s compliance with antitrust investigations into the bank’s interest-rate setting. RBS had said it was “co-operating fully” with the investigation earlier this month; the Competition Bureau, however, says this is not the case. No banks have been charged in the investigation that is looing into whether the banks fixed interbank lending rates.
