Peugeot cleared to acquire Swedish Plastal’s French subsidiary

Automotive supplier Faurecia of Peugeot Citroën S.A. received clearance from the European Commission for its acquisition of Plastal S.A.S., a French subsidiary of the Swedish Plastal group, also an automotive supplier. Concluding that the merged entity would still face sufficient competition, the Commission examined potential effects of the merger on the specific market of “manufacture and supply of bumpers and front end carriers for light vehicles” before giving approval under the EU Merger Regulation.
