Flamco, Reflex, Pneumatex fined for coordinating prices of water management products
The European Commission has fined Flamco, Reflex, and Pneumatex for operating a cartel to coordinate prices of water management products. The three producers set prices for Germany from June 2006 to May 2008. Reflex and Pneumatex coordinated prices for 13 other EU countries for three months in 2006. Water management products, such as expansion vessels, pressure maintenance systems, water make-up systems, degassers, air vents, separators and safety valves are used in heating, cooling and sanitation systems.
Pneumatex received full immunity from fines under the Leniency Notice. Fines were reduced by 10 percent for all three companies under the Settlement Notice. Flamco is fined 3.87 million euros; Reflex is fined 9.791 million euros.
