Elevator maintenance and repair companies face infringement proceedings

Spain’s Comisión Nacional de la Competencia (CNC) has opened proceedings against several elevator maintenance and repair companies for possible anticompetitive conduct. The companies are Zardoya Otis, Schindler, Ascensores Eninter, Ascensores Imem, and Industrial de Elevación. The CNC had launched an investigation upon a complaint filed by a property owners’ association, and information provided by Citylift Ascensores. The investigation yielded prima facie evidence of anticompetitive practices, including giving customers misleading and damaging information on competitors and inciting breach of contract.
