Senate approves second term for Jon Leibowitz and welcomes new FTC Commissioner Maureen Ohlhausen

The Senate has confirmed a second term for Jon Leibowitz, current Chairman of the FTC. Leibowitz was first appointed to the FTC in 2004. In 2009, President Obama designated him to serve as Chairman.

    The FTC also welcomes a new Commissioner, Maureen Ohlhausen. Most recently a partner at Wilkinson Barker Knauer, Ohlhausen also has 11 years of experience at FTC. From 2004 to 2008, she was Director of the Office of Policy Planning and headed the Internet Access Task Force. Prior to her role in Policy Planning, she served as attorney advisor for former Commissioner Orson Swindle.
