Speegle arrives at the law firm from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, where she most recently served as head of the transportation, energy, and agriculture section. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing enforcement matters across several industries, per Bloomberg.

During her tenure at the Justice Department, Speegle managed a group of attorneys and played a role in the litigation of multiple antitrust trials. She also directed and supervised investigations involving competition issues affecting national markets, according to Bloomberg.

Duane Morris said her background in government enforcement and trial leadership will strengthen its litigation capabilities at a time when regulatory scrutiny and antitrust activity remain elevated. The firm expects Speegle’s experience to add depth to its practice across both the private and public sectors, per Bloomberg.

Speegle’s move reflects a broader trend of senior government antitrust officials transitioning into private practice, as law firms seek attorneys with first-hand experience navigating complex regulatory and enforcement environments.
