ACCC authorizes Virgin-Skywest corporate alliance

 |  May 10, 2012

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has granted authorization to a Corporate Alliance between Virgin Australia and Skywest Airlines. The approved authorization period is for five years; authorization provides the parties with immunity from court action for conduct that could otherwise be anticompetitive.

The Alliance allows the two airlines to offer bundled air passenger transport services to corporate customers. The bundled offer will allow the airlines to compete with Qantas, while also increasing consumer choice.
