Australia: Sources confirm $1B engineering deal

 |  August 31, 2013

Sources told reporters that Australia-based engineering conglomerate Sinclair Knight Merz will soon enter into a $1 billion merger agreement with US-based Jacobs Engineering.

The sources said the announcement could be made within days.

Repots say about three-quarters of SKM’s profits were made domestically, leading the company to explore multinational opportunities. Annual revenue is currently at about $1 billion for the company.

The deal would be one of the larger mergers in Australia, as few have reached the financial level of $1 billion, say reports.
