Canada: Bureau storms light makers

Canada’s Competition Bureau has launched dawn raids of various light manufacturers that supply infrastructure within the country, according to reports, though the watchdog has not concluded any wrongdoing from the companies this far. The Bureau is investigating various makers of street light and highway traffic sign makers. The names of the companies searched were not disclosed and the Bureau was sure to emphasize that the raids are part of an evidence-gathering process and nothing more. According to news outlets, a report by former Montreal police chief Jacques Duchesneau issued in 2011 mentioned possible price-fixing conspiracies among companies that manufacture street lighting and signs.
