CCP issues show cause notices to National Police Foundation and Tri-Star Cable TV Network

The Competition Commission of Pakistan has issued show cause notices to National Police Foundation and Tri-Star Cable TV Network. The notices concern allegations that NPF and Tri-Star Cable had an agreement to grant exclusive rights to Tri-Star’s multi-channel cable and data transmission services for NPF’s Sector E-11(3/4). An investigation by the CCP found that the exclusive agreement had an anticompetive effect on the market by creating entry barriers, denying consumers the choice of operators, and discouraging innovation.
