Clive Maxwell will replace John Fingleton as Chief Executive of the U.K. Office of Fair Trading. Maxwell is currently an Executive Director, and has been with the OFT since 2009. Prior to joining the OFT, Maxwell was at HM Treasury. An official start date has not been announced yet, and Maxwell will assume his new position after a transitional period.
Business Secretary Vince Cable, in his announcement, said Maxwell was “instrumental in forging strong relations with Government and the Competition Commission on the development of the new competition regime.”
