Cornerstone Research Appoints New Vice President and Chief Economist of Global Technology
Cornerstone Research, a global economic and financial consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Dr. Kirti Gupta as Vice President and Chief Economist of Global Technology. Dr. Gupta has over two decades of experience in the technology, antitrust and intellectual property industries, most recently spending 20 years at Qualcomm, Inc.
At Qualcomm, Dr. Gupta had the opportunity to provide “strategic guidance for cutting-edge technology, business, and legal priorities in various regions, global litigation disputes, mergers, and acquisitions”, and led the managing of “larger antitrust matters”.
In her new role at Cornerstone Research, Dr. Gupta will be continuing her work in keeping up with the latest technological, antitrust and intellectual property affairs. She will also be consulting for and acting as an expert witness in antitrust, intellectual property, and technology matters across the United States and internationally.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO of Cornerstone Research, Rahul Guha said “Antitrust, intellectual property, and technology are just a few of the sectors in which we continue to see notable growth. Kirti has deep experience in these areas, and we look forward to her furthering our depth of expertise”.

Dr. Gupta has plenty of experience in the realm of technology, antitrust and intellectual property, both at Qualcomm and through her role as executive director of the Institute for Business Innovation at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a senior advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
