In a bid to lower costs and consolidate on its profits, US based Coca-Cola is in merger talks with three other Coca-Cola bottlers in Europe and hopes to consolidate its operations throughout the Europe through this merger deal.
Coca-Cola Enterprises is currently in merger talks with Coca-Cola Iberian Partners as well as Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG; although the exact terms of the merger could not be ascertained at the moment, market specialists believe the deal would run in billions of dollars.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Coca-Cola Enterprises has a market value of about $10.8 billion in Western Europe, and even though it owns the German business, the Coca-Cola Iberian Partners has value that is near to that of the US based company – and it is independent of the other.
The overall success of the merger talks depends on how well the partners agree to the terms of the deal, and the participants might decide to drop the idea and forget the deal if they choose before signing the paper.
