In efforts to expand within the European market, UK-based beverage manufacturer Cott has announced an agreement to acquire two subsidiaries of Cooke Bros Holdings. The buyouts, which will take over Calypso Soft Drinks and Mr Freeze, will expand Cott’s businesses throughout the UK and the rest of Europe in a business strategy to diversify its portfolio. According to reports, Cott has developed new packaging formats for various soft drinks. The transaction remains subject to approval from the Office of Fair Trading, but the parties expect to finalize the deal by June 2013.
