GCC workshop endorses Supreme Council for Consumer Protection

A major GCC workshop on consumer protection has endorsed Saudi Arabia’s proposal to set up the Supreme Council for Consumer Protection in the GCC states. Dr. Nasser Al-Tuwaim, chairman of the Saudi Consumer Protection Association, impressed upon the workshop the importance of consumer protection and need for cooperation.

The recommendations of the workshop, such as the establishment of an umbrella GCC General Secretariat and the restructuring of existing consumer bodies, will be presented to the next summit meeting of the Supreme Council of GCC leaders for approval.
