Bloomberg Law first reported the move, noting that Webb joins Goodwin’s antitrust practice as firms continue to invest in competition expertise amid rising enforcement activity and litigation across multiple industries.

Webb previously served as of counsel in Morrison Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law Group, where she represented clients in a broad range of antitrust matters, including civil litigation, internal investigations, compliance counseling, and criminal competition-related matters. According to Morrison Foerster’s professional biography, her work has spanned industries including technology, software, healthcare, manufacturing, and media.

Her arrival comes at a time when antitrust issues remain a central concern for corporate clients and their advisers. U.S. regulators have intensified scrutiny of market concentration in recent years, particularly in digital markets, healthcare, labor practices, and sectors involving emerging technologies. The Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission have pursued a series of high-profile cases involving major technology companies and mergers viewed as potentially harmful to competition.

Webb has been involved in several notable competition matters during her career. Morrison Foerster said she was part of the team representing Avadel Pharmaceuticals in litigation against Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a dispute that received significant attention from antitrust regulators and industry participants because of allegations involving pharmaceutical market exclusivity and competition concerns. The matter ultimately resulted in a settlement that included financial compensation and licensing arrangements, according to the firm.

She also played a role in major cartel and price-fixing litigation. The California Lawyers Association recognized Webb in 2024 as one of antitrust law’s “New Lawyers to Watch,” citing her contributions to a case involving a negotiated $5 million settlement that reduced exposure to substantially larger damages claims and her work managing discovery in a price-fixing class action.

Beyond litigation, Webb has written and spoken extensively on competition issues, including antitrust developments involving labor markets and non-compete agreements. Recent publications co-authored by Webb have examined growing regulatory attention to employment restrictions and information-sharing practices among competitors.

The hire reflects broader competition among major law firms to deepen antitrust capabilities, particularly in California and Washington, where regulatory investigations and private litigation increasingly intersect with the technology sector. Several firms have recently expanded their competition practices in San Francisco and other major legal markets as clients seek guidance on merger reviews, monopolization claims, pricing practices, and compliance with evolving antitrust standards.
