India: CCI clears Sterlite-VISCAS merger

According to the Competition Commission of India, the merger with Sterlite-VISCAS does not raise anti-competition concerns in the country.

Vedanta Group firm Sterlite Technologies, a provider of transmission solutions for the telecom and power industries will incorporate a company as a wholly owned subsidiary. They would then transfer its power cable manufacturing facility at Haridwar to the newly formed firm.

The CCI release a statement saying “the proposed combination is not likely to have an appreciable adverse effect on competition in India.”
