The Confederation of Indian Industry has publically praised in the Competition Commission of India for its efforts to ease the merger and acquisition process in efforts to facilitate clearance of such deals. The changes, which reportedly fast-track certain deals, were embraced by the CII in a statement released Tuesday. According to the CII Director General, the changes initiated by the Commission were “much awaited,” specifically in regards to the decision to exempt intra-group mergers.
