India: Wireless auction cartel allegations dismissed

The Competition Commission of India has waved-off accusations that a cartel rigged the nation’s 3G spectrum auction, say reports.

    Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular were accused of colluding in the 2010 auction and subsequently making domestic roaming agreements between each other for coverage in areas where they did not own spectrum.

    State-owned BSNL spearheaded the allegations against the telcos.

    The CCI dismissed the charges, however, noting that it did not find any evidence of such collusion.
