Italy/US: Fiat not shy about desire to own Chrysler

Italian automotive company Fiat is reportedly encouraging a merger with US-based giant Chrysler, based in Detroit. According to repots, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has not been shy about his desire to acquire Chrysler, part of which Fiat bought in a 2009 bailout. Fiat helped the struggling car company get back on its feet; now, Fiat may look to take the rest of Chrysler’s shares from UAW, a struggle reports say is going to court and may not end anytime soon.
