Law firm White & Case has enhanced its Global Antitrust Practice in the Asia-Pacific region.
Based in Tokyo, former secretary general of the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) Hideo Nakajima joins the firm as a special advisor.
As secretary general, a position he served in from January 2014, Nakajima encouraged cooperation among competition authorities, contributed to the convergence of competition law enforcement and policy and consultation and compliance programs for corporations and trade associations.
He had previously served as director general of the Bureau of Economic Affairs, where he engaged in JFTC competition advocacy activities, and was responsible for competition policy in the government, compliance program for businesses, including reviewing merger proposals.
