A Kirkland & Ellis partner has left the firm to join US rival Ropes & Gray, marking Kirkland’s second London antitrust departure in 2022, reported Law.com
Annie Herdman will join Ropes in early March, the firm said in a statement. Based in London, she has been at Kirkland for the last seven years, according to her Linkedin profile, making partner in 2019.
It is the latest London antitrust departure for Kirkland, who in January parted ways with antitrust partner Sarah Jordan, who moved to rival Goodwin Procter.
Herdman has significant experience advising a wide range of corporate, sovereign wealth, and private equity clients in all aspects of EU and UK competition law.
Managing partner of Ropes & Gray, David Djaha said: “Her experience and ability will further strengthen the team in London and will be highly valued by clients, both in the UK and elsewhere.”
The hire is part of Ropes’ plan for “continued momentum in London”, according to a statement by the firm, with the European team currently being led by partner Ruchit Patel.
