Norway: Largest construction co granted full leniency in asphalt antitrust case

Norway’s largest construction company Veidekke has been granted full leniency by the Norwegian Competition Authority, the final decision on the matter regarding violations of the Competition Act within the asphalt sector. Veidekke reportedly notified the authorities in January 2010 that its company could possibly have played a part in the scheme between 2005 and 2008. President and CEO Terje R. Venold has released a statement saying the company is “pleased” with the authority’s decision and that investigations into the matter pointed to a “single person” behind the violations at the company.
