Norway: Telenor buys VimpelCom shares despite antitrust warning

Norway’s Telenor acquired a big amount of VimpelCom stocks in face of opposition from co-shareholder Altimo and the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (CPI reported). But the deal has sparked a renewed outbreak of hostilities between the two sides. VimpelCom is strategic to these players, as it has a market value of $16 billion USD and represents a quarter of the country’s mobile market.
