Pakistan: Competition Commission entices whistleblowers

In efforts to boost competition policy, the Competition Commission of Pakistan has launched new policies that reward whistleblowers that come to regulators with news or evidence of anticompetitive behavior, say reports.

    The Competition Reward Payment to Informant Regulations will offer financial compensation and guarantee privacy to individuals or companies that provide the CCP with information regarding violations of competition law.

    According to CCP Chairman Dr. Joseph Wilson, the new policies follow the CCP’s examination of its current leniency program.
