Poland: Antitrust regulator delays Nord Stream-2 review

Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection has extended its review of the proposed Nord Stream-2 natural gas pipeline joint venture by four months, the regulator said in a statement Thursday.

    “UOKiK issued a decision to extend by four months the deadline for the completion of the procedure for the creation of the six-party joint venture responsible for the construction and operation of Nord Stream-2,” the statement reads.

    The antitrust regulator received an application to create the Nord Stream-2 AG joint venture in mid-December.

    “It is necessary for a careful examination of the impact of the transaction on the Polish oil market, including to analyze the opinions of the participants and the gas market regulator,” UOKiK said in the statement.
