Portuguese Consumer Protection Group to sue Apple over AppleCare

    The Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (“DECO”) announced a lawsuit against Apple for allegedly misleading customers through deceptive language in order to persuade them into purchasing the add-on AppleCare Protection Plan, and for falsely inflating the importance of its extended warranty.

    Apple has been fined previously for similar unfair consumer practices in Italy, by failing to provide clear information to customers both on product assistance, and its warranty process.
