    Russia-based Uralkali announced Monday it reached an agreement with the Federal Land Development Authority of Malaysia, a strategic move as South East Asia has high demand for the fertilizer.

    The global potash market has faced heated competition in recent months as Uralkali cut ties with competitor Belarus earlier this year.
