Simpson Thacher announced the opening of its new office in Brussels, Belgium. Complementing our presence in London, the Brussels office will focus on providing client advice on European merger control and competition law and regulations concerning State aid and foreign direct investment before the European Commission, the European Courts, and Member States of the European Union.
The office opening follows Partner Antonio Bavasso joining the Firm in February 2021. Antonio Bavasso is a leading antitrust lawyer with extensive experience in merger reviews, government antitrust investigations, antitrust litigation, and counseling on a variety of competition issues. He advises clients across a broad range of industries, including the technology, media, and telecom sector, in a wide variety of matters before the European Commission, the United Kingdom’s Competition and Markets Authority, and other global competition authorities.
