Both institutions have come to the summit promising greater efforts of cooperation regarding each country’s priority issues, such as cartel prevention and the evaluation of public policy.

The summit hosted discussions regarding the different Spanish and Portuguese criteria for quantifying fines, sanction procedures, the regulation of the ‘shared economy’, obstacles to effective information exchange between authorities, and the analysis of company mergers. The Iberian Forum was started in 2004 aiming to help the development of a closer and smoother relationship between the regulators.
