According to Investing, the Turkish Competition Authority is probing whether Google is abusing its dominant position in the online advertising space by offering advertisers access to all of its ad inventory through a single, unified campaign. The investigation centers on whether this approach might unfairly tilt the market in Google’s favor, reducing competitiveness.

Per Investing, officials are examining whether Google is using its existing market strength in digital advertising to boost its other services in ways that may hinder fair competition. A critical part of the inquiry will involve assessing whether the Performance Max system treats all advertisers equitably or gives preferential treatment to certain participants.

Additionally, regulators will evaluate if Google’s integration of data from across its various platforms creates barriers for competitors in the digital ad market. By combining user information from multiple sources, Google may be creating an ecosystem that’s difficult for rival advertisers to penetrate, the investigation aims to determine.

The probe marks another step in global regulatory scrutiny of big tech firms and their influence over digital markets.
