U.S.: Dominating broadcaster suit will be heard

A U.S. District Court in Indiana has agreed to hear a case initiated by Nexstar Broadcasting Inc., which is alleging that Granite Broadcasting Corp is making moves to establish a monopoly over selling local advertising sales in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. Nexstar first filed the complaint when the broadcasting company lost its rights to broadcast Fox programming; the slot was picked up by Granite, who also broadcasts for ABC, CW and NBC. Nexstar is additionally requesting that Granite be barred from hiring Nexstar employees.
