The Federal Trade Commission has announced its approval for PolyOne to buy Spartech for $393 million. Spartech shareholders still need to approve the deal, which the parties expect to be complete by the end of 2013’s first quarter. The two companies are manufacturers of various engineered materials including plastics and colorants.
