UK telco operator BT has launched accusations against watchdog Ofcom for unfair oversight of wholesale broadband, say reports.
BT is accusing Ofcom of unfairly protecting its rivals, including BSkyB and TalkTalk, for nearly 10 years and for promoting “pricing distortion” in the broadband wholesale market.
The claims are part of BT’s efforts to have Ofcom end its price floor limits on what BSKyB and TalkTalk had to pay for wholesale services sold by BT. The onetime national telco said that its rivals enjoyed such subsidies for nearly a decade, say reports.
BT and BSkyB have been feuding since BSkyB won rights to broadcast popular soccer programming.
