UK: Combined Lafarge/Anglo American construction services expected to generate $92.5M

The Competition Commission has approved for Anglo American and Lafarge to merge their construction services into a joint ventured called Lafarge Tarmac, according to reports. Trading of the resulting body began on Monday. Services of the two companies that will be combined in the UK include cement, asphalt and maintenance services, among others. According to reports, Lafarge Tarmac is expected to result in about $92.5 million with intentions of improved logistics and broadened geographical scope.
