US: AB Inbev beer merger spree keeps brewing

Just weeks after alcohol conglomerate Anheuser-Busch Inbev announced plans to acquire Korea-based Oriental Brewery in a $5.8 billion deal, reports say AB is set to continue its beer merger spree.

    AB announced a deal to acquire Long Island-based craft brewer Blue Point Brewing Company, a deal made for about $24 million say reports.

    AB’s acquisition of a local craft beer maker is a stark contrast from its other acquisitions, including last year’s controversial merger with Mexico giant Grupo Modelo. That deal required a settlement with the US Department of Justice.
