Antitrust and patent litigation expert Terrence Traux, a litigation partner at Jenner & Block, has been elected to serve as the firm’s new managing partner, say reports.
Traux has reportedly spend nearly his entire career at the law firm; he was chosen to succeed current managing partner Susan Levy starting May 1.
Levy announced last week she plans to join Northern Trust Corp as general counsel; she has served as managing partner since 2008, reports say.
In a statement, Traux said he plans to expand Jenner’s practice from Chicago, where the firm is most prominent. According to reports, the lawyer has been successful so far in developing the firm’s Japanese clientele with companies that include Mitsubishi Electric, Nissan Motor and Takeda Pharmaceutical. Traux is currently defending Mitsubishi in legal action brought against television retailers over allegations of cathode ray rube price-fixing.
