In recent years a senior counsel in Orrick’s San Francisco office, Larry was a nationally-recognized leader in antitrust law. During the course of his lengthy career, he tried groundbreaking cases across the country and argued more than 30 appeals, including two before the US Supreme Court. One of those, Continental Television Inc. v. GTE Sylvania Inc., is widely regarded as one of the most important antitrust decisions of the past 50 years.

In recent years, Larry was invited to testify before the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Modernization Commission as well as the DOJ-FTC Merger Guidelines Workshop and to serve as a guest lecturer at Oxford University’s Center of Competition Law & Policy. He was a Rhodes Scholar.
