Debevoise & Plimpton has announced the arrival of antitrust lawyer Edward “Ted” Hassi, who has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner from O’Melveny & Myers.
Hassi spent almost ten years at O’Melveny in two stints, sandwiching by a three year period in which he served as the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) chief trial counsel. His practice encompasses both antitrust litigation and wider regulatory issues, including merger clearances and investigations.
Debevoise’s presiding partner Michael Blair greeted the new arrival, remarking, “We are thrilled to welcome Ted to Debevoise. Today, clients face new challenges and opportunities in the ever-evolving antitrust landscape. Ted’s demonstrated ability to help businesses navigate potential antitrust obstacles so they can achieve their objectives will only further enhance our strong competition law capabilities.”
