US: DirecTV weighs in on Dish merger

    DirecTV CEO Michael White spoke at a conference regarding a possible merger with Dish Network, telling the audience that such a merger would likely attract firm scrutiny from antitrust regulators.

    According to White, the US Department of Justice’s recent lawsuit to bar the American Airlines merger with US Airways is a sign that regulators pose a major challenge “for any deal to get done.”

    Last month, the CEO was quoted as saying a DirecTV, Dish Network merger could be in the cards.
