US: Dish Network nearing $6B deal for T-Mobile-Sprint assets says Bloomberg

Satellite TV provider Dish Network is in talks to buy the wireless assets of T-Mobile US Inc and Sprint Corp for at least $6 billion, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

    Dish could announce a deal as soon as this week for assets including wireless spectrum and Sprint’s Boost Mobile brand, the Bloomberg report said, adding that it hasn’t been finalised and talks could still fall through.

    The US Justice Department had wanted Sprint and T-Mobile to sell off additional assets including some wireless spectrum to create a new wireless competitor before agreeing to approve their $26.5 billion merger. A DOJ decision on the merger is expected this week.
