US: DOJ antitrust litigator is stepping down

David Gelfand, the deputy assistant attorney general for litigation at the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division, is leaving the department after working there for three years, the DOJ said Thursday.

Department spokesperson Mark Abueg confirmed that Gelfand is stepping down but did not say whether he plans to join a law firm. Gelfand was a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP before joining the DOJ.
