US: Phillips, Chopra tapped to fill remaining FTC seats

President Donald Trump will nominate Noah Phillips, chief counsel for Sen. John Cornyn, to serve on the Federal Trade Commission, according to White House spokeswoman Natalie Strom.

    Noah Phillips, who graduated from Stanford Law School in 2005, is chief counsel for US Senator John Cornyn, a Texas Republican. He is also a veteran of the law firms Steptoe & Johnson and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

    To fill the empty Democratic seat on the Commission, the president tapped Rohit Chopra, a financial services expert. Chopra, an ally of Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, is currently at the Consumer Federation of America.
