The Times Union reports that the New York State Public Service Commission has once again pushed back its vote on Comcast’sproposed $45 billion purchase of Time Warner Cable.
The Public Service Commission last delayed its vote in February. The commission now says a decision will be made no later than April 20.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in May that the commission would review whether the deal was in the best interest of Time Warner’s New York customers and the state as a whole. Time Warner Cable provides digital cable television, broadband Internet and VoIP telephone service to approximately 2.6 million subscribers across the state, including much of Western New York.
The merger is also currently under review by the Federal Communications Commission.
If the merger goes through, Comcast will have approximately 30 million subscribers in the United States.
