Enterprise software provider Micro Focus is set to acquire The Attachmate Group in a $1.2 billion merger, say reports.
The acquisition of the software holdings company will reportedly triple the size of Micro Focus.
Micro Focus specializes in software development and the deployment of enterprise applications. Reports say the takeover will also give Micro Focus a greater share of the IT operations management and cloud computing industries.
The companies said they expect to close the deal in November; the transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
