US: Sysco would consider other acquisitions, CFO says

Sysco would consider other acquisitions if a Federal Trade Commission lawsuit derails its deal with US Foods, Sysco CFO Chris Kreidler said Friday.

    He is however confident the FTC will allow the merger. “We wouldn’t have started down this track without very good, solid advice that we had a case that would be approved ultimately by the government,” he said.

    If the court ends up siding with the FTC and blocks the merger, Sysco would reconsider “a number of strategic alternatives” it was looking at prior to the attempted US Foods deal, he said.
