An Illinois hospital has filed a suit against OSF Healthcare System, the largest health care provider in the area. Methodist Medical Center is claiming OSF prohibited Methodist Medical Center from joining preferred provider networks belonging to some of the area’s biggest insurers. OSF and Methodist Medical Center are the two largest hospitals in the area. The suit, filed Tuesday, alleges OSF partook in anticompetitive behavior to increase costs. Soon after, OSF released a statement saying their legal team had not yet full reviewed the complaint.
